Scratching my head

Maybe as I get older, I become less tolerant of those around me. Or perhaps it's just the never ending stream of stupidity that I see around me on a daily basis. I mean, has everyone lost all sense of common sense, decency and well just keeping their heads out of their asses??

This morning I watched someone try to execute a basic right turn. Now this was the simplest of all right turns (no "roundabout" obstacle courses here -- most California drivers wouldn't know what do with one) as the driver in the white Accord was turning right, with the green light, but DECIDED TO STOP AND ANSWER HIS PHONE! Mayhem ensued as the blue Explorer smacked him, and the green Audi smacked the Explorer. I just shook my head and kept driving.

I stopped to pick up a movie on the way home and noticed a woman with two children pull up in the crowded lot and park in the lone handicapped spot. Out hop her two yard apes, probably 5 and 7 years old, running into the video store. Energentic kids, as we all were at that age. She proceeds to exit the car, banging her gums on the phone oblivious to the fact he oldest child almost got nailed by a Miata. In the store, the kids were completely off the rails. I mean, did they have pure sugar for lunch?? My Mom used to tell me to "look with your eyes not your hands" and "if you touch anything I will break your hands". I believed her and to this day, I still think she'd kick my ass in a store. Their mom didn't give a rat's ass that her kids were as obnoxious as Rush Limbaugh jonesing for his next OxyContin hit, picked out her movie and took them back to the car. I left at the same time and as they got back in the vehicle, I mentioned to the woman that she was doing one hell of a job raising her kids by letting them misbehave and showing them it's OK to park in the handicapped spot if you "just going in for a minute". Self-absorbed bitch. I hope her husband goes on a tequila bender in Reno and loses her liposuction money playing craps with a stripper named Amber.
